Dear Maggie,

I don't normally write letters, but since I am, as you say, an "artsy type", I am writing one now. I'm not writing this to tell you that nobody writes letters any more (except for us, apparently), or to crow about my artistic talent (because we both know that I have a lot of that); I wrote to tell you something else.

I wrote to tell you that you're an idiot.

Ok, maybe that sounded a lot better in my head. What I meant was this:

-Yes, Chloe and I dated for about three years.

-Yes, I liked her a lot.

- But we aren't together anymore,

- And I love you.

Yes, Maggie, you. I guess I'm an idiot too, for not realizing it sooner than a couple months ago, but I have loved for as long as I can remember. Did you notice it, Magpie? I don't think you did. After your letter, I know you didn't.

That still doesn't make you less of an idiot. Or me for that matter. Here's something you don't know: college isn't forever. We'll figure something out, and I want you to be happy. We're best friends, we won't just stop being in contact. Just don't drop off the face of the planet.
